New Head of Social Media at Legal Aid Service of Broward County

New hire signals the South Florida organization’s efforts to increase online presence with aggressive 2010 marketing strategy

FORT LAUDERDALE, FL – February 1, 2010 – Tamara Pluviose has joined the Business Development team as Social Media Coordinator for Legal Aid Service of Broward County, Coast to Coast Legal Aid of South Florida and Legal Aid Service of Collier County.

Her responsibilities include attracting a new generation of pro bono attorneys and volunteers in Broward and Collier Counties through social media and online marketing efforts. She will help raise awareness within the community at-large about the work the three agencies do to meet the civil legal needs of the underserved populations through other avenues of new media, as well as furnishing recognition to participants.

Prior to joining Legal Aid, Pluviose worked extensively in online marketing in various industries including luxury travel, consumer services and the non-profit sector.

This new position was made possible by a Pro Bono Grant from The Florida Bar Foundation to reach the more than 80 percent of Americans are using social media monthly. This position is the first of its kind to be funded by the Foundation.
