Legal Aid: Filling a Community Need in a Down Economy

Thomsen is regional director of development for Legal Aid Service of Broward County, Coast to Coast Legal Aid of South Florida and Legal Aid Service of Collier County.

Roy’s Restaurant in Naples hosted the Education Foundation of Collier County’s 2011 Men of Distinction along with more than 40 Men of Distinction alumni for lunch earlier this month. Holiday Gift Program Spreads Cheer to Needy Children

Legal Aid Service of Collier County’s ‘Adopt A Family’ Holiday Program provided gifts to 88 underprivileged children in Collier County this holiday season, thanks to the generosity of more than 30 donors. Since 2007, this Holiday Program has assisted approximately 400 children and their families.

This cooperative effort between Legal Aid and the Collier County Bar Association matches needy children in the greater Naples area with donors willing to provide toys, clothes, food and other gifts for the families. Read more …
