Legal Aid would like to thank all patrons, sponsors, volunteers, ticket holders and others who attended the Inaugural Breakfast Benefiting Legal Aid’s Immokalee Outreach Office on November 13th at the Hilton of Naples and made the event a great success! The Breakfast raised funds for Legal Aid’s Immokalee Outreach Office and the work of Sister Maureen Kelleher, who has been in ministry in Immokalee since 1984 as a Religious of the Sacred Heart of Mary and has headed Legal Aid’s Immigration Unit since 2004. We are humbled and grateful for the tremendous support this event received, including many members of Naples’ faith-based organizations.

4th Annual Wills for Heroes Pro Bono Event

Saturday, November 7, 2015 from 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
Cohen & Grigsby, P.C.
9110 Strada Pl #6200
Naples, FL 34108

On November 7th, Legal Aid Service of Collier County and the Trusts and Estates Section of the Collier County Bar Association held its annual Wills for Heroes pro bono clinic at the office of Cohen & Grigsby, P.C. to draft wills, living wills, and related basic estate planning instruments for the “heroes” in our community, including local veterans, police officers, firefighters, and EMTs/first responders.

This year’s Wills for Heroes was made possible with the help of 17 attorneys from the Trusts and Estates Section of the Collier County Bar Association, law students from the Ave Maria Elder Law and Estate Planning Association, countless paralegals, notary publics, and other volunteers. This year, Wills for Heroes prepared nearly 30 estate planning documents for several of our community’s “heroes”, ensuring that the legal affairs of these very special clients and their families are in order. Legal Aid sincerely thanks the many volunteers who made this event a fantastic success.
