Full Job Description

Legal Aid Service of Collier County has an immediate opening for a Pro Bono Coordinator (‘PBC’). The PBC is responsible for the management of our Collier Lawyers Care Pro Bono Project (‘CLC’) which places pro bono clients with private lawyers in our local bar association. Day-to-day responsibilities include but are not limited to, attorney recruitment efforts, case referral, and placement supervising support personnel managing ongoing pro bono cases, assessing and addressing client and attorney problems/needs, preparing reports, developing and coordinating special projects with the Development Unit. This position is exempt. The ideal candidate will licensed attorney or law graduate with 0 – 3 years experience in litigation or case review. Law school graduates with the ability to analyze client matters and determine the appropriate service needed are also eligible to apply.     Full Job Description

    Legal Aid Service of Collier County, Inc. has an opening for a full-time staff attorney in our Immigration Law Unit. The attorney will handle a variety of immigration cases, including deportation defense and detention work, and family-based and humanitarian-based immigration benefits. In addition to providing legal services to clients before the Immigration Court and USCIS, the attorney will be responsible for hosting regular community Know Your Rights presentations and other outreach and education events in Collier County.

    The applicant must be a member of the Florida Bar. The ideal candidate will have 1- 3 years of experience in immigration law. The position requires excellent oral and written advocacy skills, a willingness to be an aggressive advocate for our indigent client population, and willingness to travel between Naples and Immokalee. Bilingual applicants preferred.

The administrative employee will conduct outreach in Collier County; interview and gather documentation from potential clients to determine eligibility under grant requirements; organize open and close case files; input electronic hours and tasks for all case files; obtain information from clients for the unit attorney to draft legal documents, and occasionally contribute to or review documents and other materials prepared by the unit attorney. The ideal candidate must have excellent writing ability and superior communication skills, be extremely organized and detail-oriented, and be able to work effectively and manage their caseload in a fast-paced environment. Applicant must be bilingual in English and Spanish to translate conversations in real-time and documents with legalese.
