A component of Legal Aid’s Senior Law Unit is the Grey Light Elder Law Project (‘Grey Light’).

The Grey Light Project serves critical health-related legal needs of eligible local seniors (particularly vulnerable senior women) in Collier County by securing medical care, long term care, and the prevention of ‘elder exploitation’ through the proposed Gray Light Senior Health and Support Services Legal Project (‘the Project’).

The Grey Light Project provides free legal services to low-income seniors to meet a wide range of healthcare and housing needs.

The Project provides direct and high impact free legal services, including representation to secure or obtain:

  • Medical benefits
  • Long Term Care
  • Access to Assisted Living or Nursing Home Care
  • Medicaid waivers to receive in-home medical care
  • Informing seniors and their family members as to their legal rights
  • Prevention of economic crimes and the exploitation of vulnerable senior women

Funding for this Senior Law Unit is provided in part through the Collier Community Foundation.
